Intersectionality is the acknowledgment that everyone has their own unique experiences of discrimination and oppression, and businesses must consider all sides of marginalization — gender, race, class, sexual orientation, physical ability, etc. — in company culture and marketing. Without an intersectional lens, efforts to tackle inequalities and injustice towards marginalized populations are likely to just end up perpetuating systems of inequalities.
